Urban community framework at the High Line, Chelsea

The focus of Emerge is to create an urban framework for assisting community and neighbourhood relationships at the Highline intersection of West 20th St and 10th Ave - a site in the heart of the Chelsea Neighbourhood in New York City. Additionally, Emerge aims to catalyse tourist interaction with the neighbourhood, and to do so in a sustainable way.
Given the arts and culture scene of Chelsea, juxtaposing the traditional grids of New York City with soft flowing lines and shapes allows for a community hub that is free for all expression. A study is completed to understand forms of bent steamed wood.
